1. Install Claude Code:

curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash

2. Claude will tell you if you need to add the installation location to PATH or not. Then source .bashrc:

echo 'export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.bashrc && source ~/.bashrc

3. Make a new screen for your Claude Code session:

screen -S claude

4. Optionally navigate to your project's directory:

cd /var/www/website

5. Make a new Claude Code session and give it a name you can refer to in the browser:

claude --remote-control "auth-work"

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 as many times as you want, depending on how many different Claude Code sessions you need. Then go to Claude.ai to talk to the agent.

It's a good idea to create a CLAUDE.md file at your project's root so you don't need to repeat yourself all the time, and new Claude sessions automatically pick up the stated context.

nano CLAUDE.md

Inside CLAUDE.md, include how to start and stop your web server, what port it runs on, what environment variables it should be aware of, etc. This saves you from re-explaining the same things to every new Claude Code session.
